Atlanta, Georgia. – The Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) is pleased to announce that the Official Kick Off Party will once again be returning to the Georgia Aquarium in 2015. This event that has now become a tradition for many, is scheduled for Friday, October 9, in it’s regular slot that launches the Southeast’s largest Pride Festival, happeningOctober 10-11.
Atlanta Pride Executive Director, Buck Cooke, stated, “Every year, Will Ramsay, John Walker, and all of their colleagues at the Georgia Aquarium knock themselves out to produce an outstanding party to kick off Atlanta Pride and we know this year will be no exception.”
Cooke continued, “All of us at Atlanta Pride want to express our gratitude to the Georgia Aquarium for hosting the Official Kick Off Party for the last six years. It’s been an amazing collaboration and we are excited to see what they have in store for us this year. We also want to wish them congratulations on the tenth anniversary of their amazing facility.”
“Georgia Aquarium is delighted to once again welcome the LGBT community, along with their friends, family and loved ones to Georgia Aquarium for the Official Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party,” Scott Higley, Vice President of External Affairs and Government Relations for Georgia Aquarium said of the event.
Higley noted, “Georgia Aquarium has traditionally celebrated diversity in all its forms, and this is our sixth year of hosting this popular event. We are proud of the strides that the LGBT community has made, and the Kickoff Party is just one way to observe and celebrate them during the weekend’s festivities. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones at this event.”
As always, the Aquarium team has lined up an impressive offering of entertainment for attendees, including DJ Brandon Moses, one of the hottest DJ’s on the scene today. VJ, Diablo Rojo, a fan favorite for over a decade here in Atlanta returns to the event featuring his signature “visual” sound throughout what is sure to be a memorable evening!
Cooke offered this important note about the event, “There is a reason that this event sells our year after year and that is because our community enjoys coming together to have a fun time to start the Pride weekend off in the right way. That having been said, please get your tickets early because we all know this party sells out and once the tickets are gone, they’re gone.”
The event takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 for General Admission in advance and $35.00 at the door or $90.00 for Lounge tickets.
