ATLANTA PRIDE PROGRAMS & PARTNERSHIP MANAGER RESIGNS; SEARCH FOR NEW STAFF MEMBER

Today, The Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) announced that Laura Barton has resigned her position as Programs & Partnership Manager.  A search will begin immediately to fill this role.

Barton, who has been on the job since 2013, stated, “I am excited to move on to an opportunity in the business community to broaden my professional experience.”  She added, “It’s time to venture outside my comfort zone to learn some new knowledge and skills.”

Atlanta Pride Committee Executive Director, Jamie Fergerson, said of the development, “While I am excited for Laura and this new venture, I also know that her Atlanta Pride family will miss her as a part of our team.”

Fergerson added, “We are appreciative of Laura’s contributions over the last four years, especially her work with the most marginalized of our communities, including queer and trans people of color.  Laura did a great job in representing Atlanta Pride’s commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion in all that we do.  APC will continue this effort and we are grateful to Laura for her dedication in seeing that we fulfill this important goal.”

Barton’s last day with APC will be May 21.  The search for her replacement will begin immediately.

Regarding the open position, ATL Pride will be looking for an individual experienced in event planning and/or community organizing. The candidate will need to be able to work independently, should be extremely organized and able to work on a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously and should possess an outgoing personality with a passion for social justice and the LGBT community.  A full job description will be available on Wednesday.
